Here it is guys, it is successful. Successfully lame, but successful nonetheless.
Okay...stuff from Sunday
Fliers- Jen is making fliers for a trumpet player and will give every person ten copies. It is everyone's job to find a place to put these even if they are going on the side of the condom machine in your local tavern restroom. Jen will also be making fliers for the Pie in the Sky show.
Matt is supposed to talk to MR. Line this week about vocal coaching.
Brian and Ed are supposed to meet on Thursday to go over parts.
Jen is supposed to get lyrics to all of her songs (and Matt's if she can remember them) up on LiveJournal. Matt, if you can, fill in any blanks.
Also on Sunday we sat down and went through every song and what needs to be fixed on it. Tuesday we decided to work mainly on Extra, Extra and Next Sunday we will be concentrating on Hopes & Dreams and Trippin'
Here's what we decided needed to be done for each song.
Song #1--
tighter horns*drums and bass need to be more reggae styled parts*Jen needs to work on problem spots for vocals.
Crazy--Rhythms need to be tighter between guitar, bass, and drums and tempo needs to be clear and consistent.Choruses and the end (punk part) need to be cleaner. we need to rework the way the horns lay out with Scotty's bass stagger in the chorus. Jen and Matt need to work out the harmony before the end (*if there's one thing that I noticed). The transition to the outro is too basic-think up ideas for a rewrite
Hopes & Dreams-we are going to change the key of this song and work in back up vocals
Horns need to designate a part and make it clean.
Loose Lady- bass needs to be tighter in the intro. First verse needs vocal work. Matt needs to rewrite his part in the break down (3rd verse). Dres is going to work on learning back up vocals
Revolution-lead and back up vocals need work. Scotty is going to work on his part in the intro (possible rewrite)
Trippin'- we need to play this one and look at the problems it actually has
Extra, Extra-drums and horns need work in this one. The transition to the end needs work. Jen needs to rewrite lead vocal part. Back up vocals from Everybody on chorus (Baby, please do). Try to put back up vocals in song.
Break Dub-Bass line needs work...possible rewritten. Tempo needs to be consistent. Scotty plays consistently through Matt's solo instead of just playing hi hat.
What's UP- needs to be tighter. Work on putting in Horn accents that will blend with the guitar-possibly crescendo to stops.
JBC- let's bring this one back and figure out the problems with it.
DON'T FORGET ABOUT NETWORKING GUYS! we need to get out there this week and go see some shows...make some connections.
Everybody keep brainstorming about image, merch, and tour ideas.
Any info you can get on a van or trailer you need to bring to band practice.
$10 from everybody except Scotty on Sunday. Brian and Dres owe from this past Sunday.
In all the songs--if anyone can think up back up vocals (Dres...I'm looking at you) please do so and bring them to practice. Horns...you know what you need to do...blow your face off! (figuratively...with the horn...not a gun...)
We have a ton to do guys. Here it goes..
